Lisa & Poppy
Hi, I’m Lisa and this is my horse Poppy.
Poppy is a 16-year-old KWPN, and I’ve had her for a year and a half. We enjoy showjumping and dressage together, and we’re hoping to start eventing in the future. She always tries her best and is such a lovely horse to work with.
We have been members of IDG for a year now, and we love all of the opportunities it offers. Being part of the team means a lot to me, as it’s a great chance to improve, support others, and enjoy competing together. I’m really proud to be part of the team with Poppy.

Gaelann & Vinnie Dev
I have been an on/off member since my teens. Returning with Vinnie, my ex racehorse, our newest family member. The club is very supportive of everyone regardless of levels and ability. With an on/off competition track record so far in our retraining I took part in the 2026 grassroots dressage team to make up numbers. To my surprise, Vinnie qualified as an individual. I made the difficult decision not to travel to the Champs this year, and the club has been great supporting my decision. The dressage series is a great way to move up the levels and have something to work towards throughout the year. Hopefully next Yr we will be stronger and if lucky enough to get the Champs ticket we will be fit enough to play with our team mates.

Sue & Marmalade
I’ve been involved with IDG for about 20 years ( some of that time as a member of the committee and as Chairman). Through the club I’ve made many friends, had some great trainers and had the opportunity to do many things. Quite apart from the shows and the training I’ve attended camps and clinics; taken part in drill riding (having up to 14 horses in an arena at once working in formation was quite something!); and been part of a team – channeling Mary Poppins - that competed at the national quadrille championships.
For me, the most important thing about the club throughout the years has been how friendly it is and how encouraging it has been whatever level you are at.
